I have long been inspired by the effect man and nature have on the landscape. Light and shadow play an important part in my work enabling the pattern and form of the landscape to be revealed. I have explored these themes in a range of media including monoprint and collograph. I enjoy working with different materials and processes, and the flexibility of mixing media enables me to explore more abstract forms. Recent work has been based on sketches made in Yorkshire, Pembrokeshire and Sussex. I paint in oil, acrylic, watercolour and pastel. I am also a printmaker using linocut, lino etch, etching monoprint, collograph and gum arabic transfer. I have also been exploring the potential of stitch and textiles.
I completed an Open College Network course in Fine Art and Design (Level 3) in 2001. As I worked full time I was unable to continue to degree level. Instead, I continued with life classes and printmaking courses. I also travel and produce as many sketches as possible in the UK and abroad. For a number of years I belonged to a group of artists who regularly hired a hall to enable them to have sufficient space to work together and exchange ideas. I have exhibited widely throughout the UK, in particular in Sussex and at the Oxmarket in Chichester.
All these pieces are monoprints, with the size and title of each below. Framed prints are £190.00 each, whilst unframed prints are £45.00 each.
